Does Your Pool Use Hayward Valves

When summertime inches closer, everyone is thinking about their outdoor plans. Maybe you?re planning a great vacation, or will be spending a lot of time outdoors. But if you?re lucky enough to be the owner of a home with a swimming pool, hopefully your pump and filter system use Hayward valves. Otherwise, you probably have a few other things on your mind.

A lot of fun can be had if you?re the owner of a swimming pool. But, if you ask anyone else who owns one, they will tell you not to wait until it?s summertime to make sure it?s in working order. You may have secured the pool for the winter at the end of last season, but you?ll need to check for any possible problems come springtime.

Even if you live in a cooler zone which experiences harsh winters, if your pool and equipment were properly winterized, getting it up and running for the new season shouldn?t be too difficult. Most swimming pool equipment manufacturers give detailed guidance on what can and can?t be left out for the winter, and how to secure items that cannot be moved. However, even if you?ve followed these guidelines exactly, sometimes nature has other ideas in mind.

The first step in preparing your pool for the new season would be to inspect the cover for any possible damage. Having a safe and secure cover is very important to protect your pool from the weather, or tree limbs and other debris. A damaged cover would need to be replaced before the end of the season.

Now that the cover has been removed, the pool itself should be examined for cracks or any other problems. The pump and filter will also need to be checked out. Any equipment that was stored indoors should be taken outside for thorough examination. Next, any equipment that was too large to bring indoors should be thoroughly checked out.

If you don?t find any damage once you have examined all of the parts, then you can begin assembling the system. Once everything is assembled, be sure to check all of the hoses and valves to make sure the connections are good. Smaller parts could become vulnerable from being exposed to the elements, or just from normal wear.

If any damage is discovered, head to your nearest pool supply store to seek out replacement parts. If you?re fortunate enough to have a system that uses Hayward valves, it is probably in good working order. But should you need a replacement, it should be easy to find as Hayward is a leading supplier of swimming pool pumps, filters, and other equipment.
