Cubify's 3D printer up for pre-order, wants to make you make trinkets
3D systems trumpeted its forthcoming Cube printer back at CES, and it looks like its easy-on-the-eye curves are nearly ready for your earnest crafting. The good part is a lack of them. If you've assembled a more typical printer in the last ten years, you should be able to put these associated pieces together. It's a sharp contrast to plenty of 3D printers that more closely resemble an engineer's tantrum. The printer is priced up at $1,299, so it's not the cheapest, but we are promised a pretty concrete May 25th release date. Hit up the source to place your order, alongside some extra color cartridges. How would you make those turtleshell racers without some blue and red?

A sad, reflective study of the possibilities, and the impossibilities, inherent in the teacher-student relationship.
"Monsieur Lazhar" is good. Really good.
The film is rich in naturalistic, tossed-off details.
A standard liberal tale about an inspirational teacher gradually deepens into a quiet study of how grief works its way through a community.
It's all a bit neat. But whatever the film's limitations, it's certainly engaging to watch.
Its purpose is to present us with a situation, explore the people involved and show us a man who is dealing with his own deep hurts.
It's a subtle meditation on catharsis, and a gentle indictment of over-regulated education...
An Oscar nominee at this year's Academy Awards and for good reason, Falardeau's film is moving, smart and sensitive. Terrific stuff, in short.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray beams down July 24th
After a teaser release of three episodes earlier this year, CBS Home Entertainment has set a date for the complete first season Star Trek: The Next Generation to arrive on Blu-ray, just in time for its 25th anniversary. July 24th the six-disc set hits shelves featuring all of the first season episodes remastered in high definition complete with recomposited special effects and 7.1 DTS-HD surround soundtracks, as well as a slew of special features including new behind the scenes interviews and featurettes on the HD upgrade process.
